Phoenix Running - Manchester - The One That Got Away
This is a timed, lap based event at Hardy Farm in Chorlton Water Park beside the River Mersey. Participants run repeated laps of an out and back course that measures 5.3 km (3.28 miles) per lap. The overall course has very little elevation change and follows a riverside towpath.

- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
The event uses a seven hour time limit. Everyone who completes a lap is recorded as a finisher and all attendees receive a bespoke finishers' medal. This is a pick your own medal event; requests for specific medals must be made by 20 December 2026 and are subject to availability.
A race brief is sent one week before the event and is mandatory reading for all participants. Aid is provided at a vegetarian aid station throughout the day with many vegan and gluten free options. Examples include bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, cake, squash, and cola. Participants with severe life threatening allergies are advised to bring their own food due to possible cross contamination.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. Parking is available for 75 cars at Hardy Farm and additional parking across the river at Sale Water Park a 15 minute walk away. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
