About the race
MammothMarch Wisconsin is a two-day hiking event on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27, 2027, held at Long Lake Recreation Area in the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest near Cascade, WI.
The event offers two single-loop distances:
- 20 miles, single loop, around 900 ft elevation gain.
- 30 miles, single loop, around 1,500 ft elevation gain.
Routes run through the state forest and include paved and unpaved hiking trails, dirt trails, gravel roads, and forest floor. Final course maps will be published about two weeks before the event. Aid and refreshment stations are placed approximately every 5 to 7 miles and provide toilets, food, and drinks; typical offerings include water, energy drinks, electrolytes, fruit, cereal or protein bars, and sandwiches. There are cut-off times at aid stations for safety. Complimentary on-site parking is available. Lodging and accommodation details will be provided later.
All finishers receive a personalized certificate and a finisher medal; participants who stop early receive certificates stating the mileage completed. MammothMarch Hiking Passes will be available for new participants, and returning participants can bring an existing pass to collect 2027 stamps.
