Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk
This event offers two separate 5K options and a 1 mile community walk held on farmland near Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Roads will be closed for the runs. The setting includes manicured grass, dirt and wooded trails as well as asphalt country roads that run toward the county line and back.

The trail course follows varied countryside terrain with uphill and downhill sections and paths through farms of corn, hay and Christmas trees. The asphalt course is an out-and-back on closed roads with some elevation change and a roughly one mile turnaround. Walkers may use any distance they are comfortable with on the closed road.
Amenities noted for preregistrants by September 1 include guaranteed T shirt and a swag bag. The event is paired with a community celebration featuring a country barbecue, cornhole tournament, games, music and a large basket raffle. Chip timing provides instant results and a photographer will be on site. Awards are presented immediately for overall male and female winners and for male and female age brackets. Walkers do not receive awards but preregistered walkers receive shirts and swag while supplies last.
The event is held rain or shine. Children 13 and under may enter free or by a donation; a kids event gift is included though not a T shirt. No refunds or mailed awards are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
