Lonely Mountain Ultra
The Lonely Mountain Ultra is a multi-distance trail running event held on Gaanha-bula Mount Canobolas near Orange, NSW. The course runs through Canobolas State Forest and includes fire trails, woodlands, and open pasture. The route climbs to nearly 1400 metres and offers views across the NSW Central West.
The event features a mix of trail runs and ultra-marathon distances, and includes children’s races. Distances offered include:
- 11K trail run
- 22K trail run
- 32K trail run
- 50K ultra-marathon
- 50M ultra-marathon
- 104K ultra-marathon
- 100M ultra-marathon
- Kids 2K and 4K
The event has occurred previously in late September and lists race results and photos from past editions. Organisers publish race day information, terms and conditions, and results. The committee acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, the Wiradjuri people, and asks competitors to show respect for the country and its stories and traditions while on the course.
