Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge : Mount Canobolas, NSW
The Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge is a trail running and walking event held on Gaanha Bula : Mount Canobolas, near Orange in the Central West of New South Wales. The event date for 2027 is Sunday 21 March.
The main course covers approximately 11 km and includes a total climb of 520 metres, traversing three peaks and passing through native forest. Course maps are provided for the GVMC route and a separate family trail.
The event has run for over two decades and records results and photographs from past years, including 2026 results and photos. Organisers acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Wiradjuri Nation, and note a commitment to treating the land with respect.
