About the race
Lone Wolf South East is an endurance running event held at Alice Holt Forest, Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham GU10 4LS on Saturday 13th March 2027. Runners meet at the Visitor Centre and follow a forest loop of about 6.7 km that is repeated every hour for up to 24 hours. Participants must complete each loop within 60 minutes to continue to the next hour; the final lap is contested as a race and male and female champions are declared.
The event structure enables completion of different cumulative distances, including:
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
Facilities at the Visitor Centre include a café, a large room for resting or changing, toilets, water points, first aid, and onsite paid parking (cost noted as £10 for the day). Small gazebos or tents may be set up near the start/finish for personal rest areas. The forest does not allow fires or BBQs. Well behaved dogs on leads are permitted and spectators may watch from the start/finish area.
Guidelines note punctuality at the start line each hour and that in a tie the first runner back on the final lap is declared the winner. The event is for adults aged 18 and over. Tickets are non-refundable after purchase; if organisers cancel, tickets can be transferred to another Lone Wolf event. Phone signal can be poor in parts of the forest.
Awards include a handmade wooden trophy for the overall victor and wooden medals for participants; event T-shirts are available for purchase and distributed on the morning of the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
