Lobo Cancer Challenge
The Lobo Cancer Challenge is an annual community fundraiser held in September at the UNM Lobo Football Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico (University Stadium, 87106). The event supports the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center and its patient care, research, community outreach, and education programs.
Event day features several participant options, including:
- 5K Run / Walk
- 25 Mile Bike Ride
- 50 Mile Bike Ride (new route)
- Stadium Stair Challenge
- Cub Pack Fun Run for children ages 1-10
- Virtual Challenger option
Sponsor booths form a Participant Village and a Wellness Village on the stadium field. Games and activities are offered on the field as part of the event day experience.
Organizers state that 100% of fundraising dollars raised by participants go directly to the participant’s chosen program in patient treatment and support, advanced cancer research, community outreach, or education and training. Some bike routes note age restrictions for participation.
