Event Overview

The Livingston Oval Ultra is a timed endurance event held in Livingston, New Jersey. The race takes place on a course known as the Oval, which is located along Robert Harp Drive. This event focuses on how many laps a participant can complete within a specific time limit. The course is fast, flat, and received USATF certification in August 2023.

Participants can choose from four distinct time-based categories:

  • 12 Hours
  • 6 Hours
  • 3 Hours
  • 1 Hour

The race is held in a public space, and the organizers maintain strict rules regarding littering to ensure the area remains clean. Athletes have access to an aid station featuring standard ultra-marathon food and additional items from sponsors. For safety and timing, race bibs must be displayed on the front of the runner at all times.

Facilities and Awards

A designated area at Gazebo Field is available for athletes to set up personal gear, including tents, chairs, and coolers, within a 12'X12' space. Runners are responsible for the cleanup of their individual sites.

Top performers are recognized for their achievements:

  • Custom wall plaques are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each time category.
  • All participants receive a running-style ball cap or a winter knit hat, though a discount is available for those who choose to opt out of the event headwear.

The timing of the event in early March typically sees average temperatures ranging between 29°F and 50°F. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
