About the race
Little Colorado is a vertical trail event held on October 10, 2026 at Brandywine Ski Resort in Northfield, Ohio. The format challenges participants to climb repeated short loops on ski slopes to accumulate vertical gain similar to the Manitou Incline. The course is organized in two parts. The Main Loop is a one mile circuit that moves across three marked trails (a green circle climb, a blue square climb, and a black diamond climb) and provides 375 feet of vertical gain per lap.
After completing the chosen number of main laps, every competitor must complete a Final Climb on the Champagne trail to reach the finish; the Final Climb is 0.12 miles with 125 feet of vertical gain. Participants may complete up to five main loops. The event uses a three hour time limit for the climbing portion; the Final Climb must be completed to record an official finish. Packet pick-up and race day registration are available on event day. Registration opens August 5, 2026 and closes October 10, 2026.
