About the race

Last One Standing Ultra takes place December 11-12, 2026, on the Mayor's Loop asphalt trails in St. George, Utah. The course runs close to the Virgin River and offers viewpoints of the city. The event is a self-supported ultra running format that uses a repeating loop structure.

Key distances:

  • 6-mile adult loop
  • 5.3-mile kids loop
  • 102-mile full distance for 17 laps

The adult Ultra is based on a 6-mile loop that is repeated on a roughly 90-minute cycle. Runners must return to the start/finish within each cycle to remain in the race; a runner who does not make the cutoff for a loop is eliminated. The race schedule includes 16 regular loops followed by a 17th final lap that determines overall winners.

Relay entries are offered in two formats. A 2-person relay covers eight laps for the team and a 4-person relay covers four laps for the team. For the final lap both 2-person and 4-person teams must run and finish the final lap together. The kids division uses a 5.3-mile loop; children may use non-motorized transport such as bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, Heelys, or unicycles. The kids loop follows the adult loop except for exclusion of the initial 0.7-mile out-and-back.

Packet pickup and camping are centered at Crosby Family Confluence Park, where the park area is available to set up personal campsites and a pavilion will have an assortment of food and drink. One aid station is located approximately halfway through the loop at St. James Park and will provide water and Gatorade but will be unattended by race staff.

Awards include a finishers medal for those who complete the first loop on time, a button awarded after every lap, a belt buckle for runners who complete all 17 loops, and overall male and female winners receive a champion's belt and a basket of items. Entry fees are listed for adult, relay, and kids divisions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
