Last Human Standing West Greenwich RI
Last Human Standing is a loop-based trail event held on private property adjacent to Big River Management Area in West Greenwich, RI. Registration opens January 1, 2027 and the event address is disclosed to registrants and their crews; parking at the site is limited, so attendees are asked to limit vehicles.
The race uses a repeating loop of about 3.8 miles with approximately 450 ft of vertical gain per loop. The route begins on double-track for roughly 0.5 to 0.6 miles, then moves onto singletrack that weaves across the double-track. Directional arrows and orange flags on the right mark the course. Terrain includes rocks, roots, and low-lying logs on trails that are also used for mountain biking and are open to non-motorized users via the Big River Management Area.
Competitors must complete each loop in under 60 minutes to be eligible to continue; the same course and completion rule apply for each subsequent loop. The race continues in this format until only one runner remains standing and has completed one more loop than the second-to-last competitor who did not finish.
The start/finish area has a fully stocked aid station and space for pop-up tents and crew areas. Participants commonly combine their own supplies with what the aid station provides. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
