Laois Athletics Novice & Even Ages XC 2026
Laois County Championships for Novice and even age cross country takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026 in Cappakeel, R32 Y8D4. The event is hosted by Oughaval A.C. and Emo Rath A.C.
Programme of events is divided by gender and age group. Distances for girls:
- U10 (2017/2018) 800m
- U12 (2015/2016) 1,400m
- U14 (2013/2014) 2,000m
- U16 (2011/2012) 3,000m
- U18 (2009/2010) 3,500m
- Novice Women 3,500m
Distances for boys:
- U10 (2017/2018) 800m
- U12 (2015/2016) 1,400m
- U14 (2013/2014) 2,000m
- U16 (2011/2012) 3,000m
- U18 (2009/2010) 5,000m
- Novice Men 5,000m
Medals and team scoring follow age-group rules: U10 medals for first 10 finishers and team medals to top 3 teams with four to score; U12–U16 medals for top three finishers and team medals to top three teams with four to score; U18 medals for top three finishers and team medals to top three teams with three to score. Novice athletes must be aged 18 or over on 31 December in the year of competition. All athletes must be AAI registered, wear a race number, and wear a club singlet.
