About the race
Laois County Championships for Intermediate and uneven age cross-country categories will take place in Blackhill, Abbeyleix on Sunday 11 October 2026. The event is hosted by Ballyroan/Abbeyleix & District A.C. and includes individual and team competitions across multiple youth and intermediate categories. Age groups and race distances include: - U9 boys and girls : 600 m - U11 boys and girls : 1000 m - U13 boys and girls : 2000 m - U15 boys and girls : 3000 m - U17 girls : 3500 m; U17 boys : 4500 m - U19 girls : 4000 m; U19 boys : 6000 m - Intermediate women : 4000 m; Intermediate men : 6000 m Medals and team scoring are specified by category: U9 medals for the first 10 finishers and team medals for top 3 teams (4 to score); U11 to U17 medals for top 3 and team medals top 3 (4 to score); U19 medals top 3 and team medals top 3 (3 to score); Intermediate women medals top 3 and team medals top 3 (4 to score); Intermediate men medals top 3 and team medals top 3 (5 to score).
U19 races are run simultaneously with the intermediate races in the corresponding gender. All athletes must be AAI registered and wear a race number. Entries are processed via popupraces.ie. A €5 spectator charge applies at the gate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
