Land And Lakes Relay
The Land And Lakes Relay is a team relay covering 61 miles from Warren Wilson College in East Asheville to Fonta Flora Brewery-Whippoorwhill Farm in Nebo, near Lake James. The event takes place on March 6, 2027 and is organized as a one-day relay for teams of four to six people. The field is capped at 50 teams.
Teams may structure legs in the traditional formats or adapt them to fit the team. Depending on team size, each runner completes two or three legs. Leg distances range from 3.3 miles to 7.7 miles.

- Four-person cumulative distances: Runner1 15.1, Runner2 15.9, Runner3 17.8, Runner4 12.8
- Six-person cumulative distances: Runner1 11.0, Runner2 9.2, Runner3 9.2, Runner4 10.4, Runner5 12.7, Runner6 9.1
Entry fees are tiered by date: July 1–September 30 ($450 per team), October 1–January 31 ($500 per team), and February 1–race day ($550 per team). Packet pickup occurs at local locations in the days before and on race day. Teams are expected to be self-supporting; restrooms are available at transfer points and teams must carry their own food and fluids.
Safety requirements include wearing reflective vests and headlamps during early morning hours; flashing lights are strongly recommended. Minimum participant age is 18. Awards are given by age-based team categories and winners receive baton awards. A post-race celebration at Fonta Flora includes team photos and a complimentary beer for participants 21 and over.
