About the race
Lakeside Park 8K Run/Walk is an 8K loop on soft, natural trails at Lakeside Park in Piedmont, South Carolina (1500 Piedmont Hwy, Piedmont, SC 29673). The route includes some single-track mountain biking sections and a central hub that leads deep into the forest, keeping the course easy to follow. The event takes place on May 2, 2027. Packet pickup is available at the park about an hour before the event; proxy pickup is not allowed.
Race-day registration by mobile is permitted until the race begins. Parking is free on race day and located within about 100 meters of the start/finish, but Greenville County Parks and Recreation requires a $5 special use permit paid during registration. There are no aid stations on course; water and refreshments are provided at the finish. Post-race provisions include pancakes, music, event-themed giveaways, a race sticker, a custom race tattoo, and free professional race photos, which are typically available within 48 to 72 hours.
All finishers receive a custom medal. Chip timing and live results are provided, and a 90-minute time limit applies. Awards include trophies for the top three overall finishers (male and female) and age-group medals for the top three in 15 age categories. The race is part of the Upstate Trail Series and the Upstate Youth Series, and it supports New Foundations Home for Children through the Upstate Giving Series.
