The Lakes 3000 Ultra
The Lakes 3000 Ultra is a mountain endurance event covering 54 miles (87 km) with over 15,000 ft (approximately 4,500 m) of ascent. The route links four of the Lake District's 3,000 ft peaks and must be completed within a 24 hour time limit. The course starts and finishes at The Pencil Factory in Keswick and follows established Public Rights of Way; sections are marked and participants receive a verified GPX file, a detailed route map, and route notes.
Event support includes full live GPS tracking for race control and remote viewers, three dedicated high‑fell medical stations, and four stocked aid stations with food, drink, and medical support. The entry package includes a waterproof map and route notes, the GPX file, an official Lakes 3000 buff, open tracking photo dashboard, a finisher’s medal, hot food and drink at the finish, a drop bag facility at the start/finish, and other race‑pack materials. The event is fully insured and is listed as a UTMB Index Race in Category 100K.
Safety requirements are mandatory: all participants must carry the specified mandatory kit at all times and this kit will be checked. Minimum entry age is 20 on race day, entries are not vetted, and entrants confirm they are competent to complete the course. The listed entry fee is £180 excluding the booking fee.
