Keswick Lakeland Trails : Derwentwater 5 km, 10 km and 15 km
The event is a set of fully marked and marshalled trail races starting and finishing in Fitz Park, Keswick, Cumbria. Routes follow footpaths and bridleways around Derwentwater with panoramic views of Skiddaw, Blencathra and the northern fells. Terrain is mainly scenic hard packed trails with occasional muddy sections, a few hills and the Bottomless Bogs of the Glenderaterra Valley.
Event facilities include an event village with live music, race commentary, local food and drink stalls, on-site retail by Pete Bland Sports and an INOV8 demo stand. There are portable toilets and baggage storage adjacent to the main marquee. Advanced Life Support medics and radio-equipped marshals will provide medical cover and communications.
Hydration provision: one water station on the 15 km course (around 11 km) and one on the 10 km course (around 6 km). Competitors are asked to carry their own water or bring a reusable cup, as cups will not be supplied at on-course stations. Dogs are not allowed on the courses. In-ear and over-ear headphones are not permitted; bone-conductor headphones are allowed.
Event parking is managed at Keswick School, postcode CA12 5QB; parking charges are £5 for cars and £6 for vans, and only small vans (maximum VW Transporter size) are permitted on event parking. Children’s Fun Trails run separately on the day and are free for competitors’ children, with finishers’ medals awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
