About the race
Lakeland Paws: Whinlatter Double Header is the final event of Lakeland Paws Season 5 and the second race in a double header weekend. It uses the original route to the summit of Seat How and includes the season prize giving at the end of the event.
There are two fully marked course options:
- 8K loop about 5 miles with 360m ascent reaching the Seat How summit.
- 5K loop about 3 miles with 240m ascent joining the second half of the longer route.
On the Seat How route some sections are narrower and steeper, so only one dog per runner is allowed on that course and dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may compete without dogs. There are no cut offs and participants may walk as much as they like.
