Lakeland Paws Whinlatter Double Header
This is the final event of Lakeland Paws Season 5 and the second race in a double header weekend, with season prize giving at the end. The event takes place at Whinlatter and uses the original route to the summit of Seat How; some sections on that route are narrower and steeper, so only one dog per runner is permitted there and dogs must use a suitable harness. Harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may also compete without dogs.
There are two marked course options and the event is chip timed. GPX files are available to download and there are no cut-offs, so walking is permitted.
- 8K loop with about 360m of ascent, reaches the summit of Seat How.
- 5K route with about 240m of ascent, avoids Seat How and joins the latter half of the longer course.
Minimum age is 16 or older. Entry fee is £20. Season prizes will be presented at the end of this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
