Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter
Tour de Whinlatter is a trail running event in Whinlatter forest that visits quieter parts of the woodlands around Whinlatter Top. The routes follow wide forest tracks with no technical ground, though there are some undulating or "lumpy" sections. The event is chip timed, will be marked on the ground, and GPX files are available.
Two distances are offered:
- 9 km, 380 m ascent
- 12 km, 500 m ascent
Both routes mainly cover the same ground, with the shorter option described as slightly easier. Runners may take part with or without dogs; dogs must run on a suitable harness. Kit to borrow is available from Non-Stop Dog Wear for those who need it.
The event is part of the Lakeland Paws series and is listed as one of nine events in the series. Entry details include a minimum age of 16 on the event date and an entry fee of £20.
