Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter
This trail event on Sunday 4 April 2027 is centred on quieter parts of Whinlatter Forest and follows wide forest tracks that contour around Whinlatter Top. The routes avoid technical ground but include some undulating, "lumpy" sections; both are described as runnable.
Two route options are offered, covering largely the same ground:
- 9 km roughly 380 m ascent
- 12 km roughly 500 m ascent
Dogs may run but must be on a suitable harness; borrowing kit from Non-Stop Dog Wear is available. Runners may also compete without dogs. The course is marked and chip timed. GPX files are available for download.
This event is the seventh of nine in the fifth Lakeland Paws series. Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 3 April 2027. The minimum age for entry is 16 and the stated entry fee is £20.
