Lakeland Paws: Dogs@Dodd Double Header
The event takes place in Dodd Wood as the first event in the finale weekend of the fifth Lakeland Paws series. The course is fully marked and gives views across Bassenthwaite Lake to the Northern Fells.
The route uses a mix of forest roads and trails. Most sections are on wide trails, so two dogs per runner are permitted, but some narrower parts and a relatively steep final descent require runners to manage pace. Dogs must be run on a suitable harness; harnesses are available to borrow from Non Stop Dog Wear. Runners may compete without dogs.
There are two course options:
- 8K loop, 370 m of ascent
- 5K loop, 210 m of ascent
The shorter option avoids some ascent and is presented as an easier route. The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download.
Additional event details provided include a minimum age of 16 or older and an entry fee of £20. This event forms part of a Double Header weekend that includes a second event at Whinlatter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
