Ditch Witch La Llorona Run
The Ditch Witch La Llorona Run is a themed running event held in Albuquerque that uses the cottonwood lined trails of the Bosque as its course. The event draws on the La Llorona legend and pairs a folklore theme with several organized distances and family activities.
Distances include:
- 10K
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids K
- La Llorona Twilight 5K
Participants receive an event t shirt and a finisher medal. The race provides a well stocked finish table and refreshments at the finish. The course includes water and Powerade stations and professional timing using a disposable bib tag. Free photo downloads are available after the event. Age group and overall awards are presented and additional race treats are provided at the finish.
The event features a costume contest and La Llorona storytelling as part of the post race atmosphere. The La Llorona Double Dare Challenge allows those already registered for the 10K or 5K to add the Twilight 5K for an additional fee of fifteen dollars and receive a separate bib and official timing for both races.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sports in North Towne Plaza in Albuquerque. The event is organized by RunFit, a 501(c)(3) non profit focused on long term health and community building. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
