HOKA Kodiak Ultra Marathons by UTMB is a trail running festival held in Big Bear Lake, California. The event combines two days of racing with a downtown festival that features local food and drinks, a DJ, and a parade at the finish area. The start and finish are located in the town center.
Courses run through varied landscapes and three climate zones: high desert, sub alpine, and semi arid. Runners pass views of Big Bear Lake and trail features such as Sugarloaf Mountain and the Skyline trail. The event offers five race distances with measured elevation gain for each.

In 2026 the event is the UTMB World Series Americas Major and awards double Running Stones compared to other UTMB World Series Events. Each Major grants automatic qualification for a total of 210 runners to the following year’s UTMB World Series Finals. The race is also a qualifier for the Western States Endurance Run.
