Kirkstall Calverley Cutter & Kirkstall Bridge 10km

Great Owl Running stages two linked races based at Race HQ, Kirkstall Bridge Inn, 12 Bridge Rd, Leeds LS5 3BW. The event offers a longer trail route that follows canal and riverside trails and a shorter out and back along the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Distances:

  • ~16 km trail taking in canal, River Aire and the Calverley Cutting
  • ~10 km flat out and back on the canal towpath

The courses use canal towpath, riverside trail and public footpaths and will be fully marked with marshals at key points. Elevation is approximately 200 m for the 16 km race and 60 m for the 10 km race. A water refill station with cups is provided at the turnaround point on the 10 km only. Great Owl Running events are cupless; runners must bring a personal water container.

Entry is limited to 250 participants and the minimum age is 18. Race facilities include toilets and bag storage at the Race HQ. Optional extras such as medals, t-shirts, and a "Trees not Tees" donation are available before the event; extras at entry on the day are limited to remaining stock.

Due to ongoing flood relief works along the River Aire the course may be diverted; any change will be decided close to the race date. For the 16 km event a windproof or waterproof jacket is mandatory. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
