Kirkstall Calverley Cutter & Kirkstall Bridge 10km
Great Owl Running stages two races based at Kirkstall Bridge Inn, 12 Bridge Rd, Leeds LS5 3BW. Each course uses canal towpaths, riverside trails and public footpaths beside the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the River Aire. A possible short diversion may be needed because of ongoing flood relief works along the River Aire; any change will be confirmed close to the event date.
- ~16 km trail along the canal, river and Calverley Cutting.
- ~10 km flat out and back on the canal towpath.
The 16 km race has approximately 200 m elevation; the 10 km has approximately 60 m elevation. The course will be fully marked and marshalled at key locations. Water is provided at the turnaround point on the 10 km only; the event is cupless so participants must bring their own water container. Mandatory kit for the Calverley Cutter includes a windproof or waterproof jacket and extra warm clothing suitable for winter conditions.
Entry is limited to 250 runners and the minimum age is 18. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and bag storage. Optional extras may be available before the race, including purchaseable medals and t-shirts and an optional "Trees not Tees" donation to fund tree planting.
