Kinross Show Hill Race 2026
The inaugural Kinross Show Hill Race takes place on 8 August 2026 as part of the Kinross Show. The course is an intense up and down hill contest run mainly off-path on ground not normally open to the public. The route is approximately 2.3 miles with about 750 ft of ascent and includes rough ground and a technical descent. The course starts in the centre of the show and finishes next to the bar and offers views over Loch Leven and an elevated view of the show ground.
The event is organised by Kinross Road Runners and insured through Scottish Hill Runners. Runners aged 16 or over on the day may enter. In line with Scottish Hill Runners requirements, competitors must carry standard kit, a map, a whistle and a compass; a kit check is required to collect race numbers. The route will be marked by marshals at key points, but runners are expected to navigate the hill themselves. A route map will be published on the Scottish Hill Runners website before the event.
Entry to the race includes free access to the Kinross Show and its parking. Supporters must obtain show tickets separately. Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers and to the fastest male and female teams of three; there will be no age-category prizes at this inaugural event. Entries may be transferred to another runner before the event closing date; refunds and deferrals are not available and the event cannot be rescheduled if cancelled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
