Kilnsey Crag Fell Race

Kilnsey Crag Fell Race is part of the Kilnsey Show and takes place near Kilnsey on the B6160 between Grassington and Kettlewell (BD23 5PS). The senior course is short in distance but includes a steep climb of about 350 feet (100 metres) over roughly 1.00 mile / 1.60 km and a technical descent down a narrow rock chimney that requires a rope for safe negotiation. Junior races include steep scree descents and have a minimum age of 9 years for the junior crag race.

The event also features handicapped track events for seniors, including sprint and mile races, and a one lap track race for under nine participants. Age categories listed are Under 12, Under 14, Under 17 and Seniors.

Entry to the senior fell race is strictly limited to a maximum of 100 runners for safety reasons. Senior entry is by pre entry only; there is no entry on the day. All runners must declare and collect their race number from the BOFRA registration and must wear suitable footwear, for example studded fell shoes, as road shoes are not suitable. A race map and race profile are not available on the event page. Historical results and race reports are provided for multiple past years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
