About the race
Altra Kielder Marathon Weekend is a multi-race event held at Kielder Forest Park in Northumberland, on and around Kielder Water. Entries are open for the 2026 weekend event.
The programme runs over two days and features a series of races that culminate with the marathon on the final day. The marathon route follows an almost entirely off-road course around the lake. The weekend also includes a gravel duathlon, a half marathon, a 10K and junior races.
Facilities and services listed for participants and spectators include a medal and goody bag for all finishers, a free park and ride system for runners, paid spectator passes with shuttle buses to multiple vantage points, a secure baggage drop, and local produce and refreshments. Prize categories are announced for the top three male and female finishers and for first finishers in V40, V50 and V60 categories. Information about accommodation and activities in and around Kielder Water is provided for those planning to stay locally.
