Jurassic Express Trail Run, Swanage

The Jurassic Express Trail Run in Swanage, Dorset takes place on Saturday 13 March 2027. The route starts on Swanage seafront and follows coastal trails past landmarks such as Old Harry Rocks, Studland and the ruins of Corfe Castle. Underfoot the course uses firm chalk paths and sandy tracks, giving a mix of terrain and coastal views.

The course finishes beneath the historic Corfe Castle ruins. After the run participants can board a private vintage steam train for the return trip to Swanage. Train tickets cost £9 per person and can be purchased when booking, via the event shop or on the day. Spectators may also buy train tickets.

Event services include chip timing, a metal finisher medal, a finisher goodie and drink, a personalised certificate, first aid cover, on-course refreshments and water stations, fully signed routes with marshals, and an event photographer. The race is plastic free so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. Bib numbers are collected on arrival using a QR code and must be displayed on the front. There is no on-site parking; public car parks are nearby. No dogs are allowed. Signage uses pink arrows and pink tape and hazards are marked with caution signs.
