Jungle Escape - Way Over Yonder Trail Run
Jungle Escape takes place October 4, 2026 at Jungle Habitat in West Milford, NJ (109 Airport Road). The event uses a USATF sanctioned looped course that combines single track trails, some fire road and paved sections with notable descents and climbs.
Distances:
- Half Marathon plus : 13.2 miles (two loops)
- 10K plus : 6.6 miles (one loop, ~600+ feet elevation gain)
- 5K plus : 3.4 miles (one loop, ~300 feet elevation gain)
The Half Marathon requires runners to finish the first lap in under 1 hour 45 minutes to begin the second lap. All finishers receive wooden finisher plaques. Age group medals are awarded to the top three men and women with the Half Marathon organized in five year age groups, the 10K in ten year age groups, and the 5K awarding overall top three men and women. A post race party is provided for participants.
Aid stations are cupless; organizers provide GU gels or chews, water and GU or Skratch hydration drinks. Runners are advised to carry a hydration pack or bottle and on-course nutrition. Registered participants receive access to RideWithGPS course maps and are encouraged to download the app to follow the marked route. Required gear includes a charged cell phone, a preloaded RideWithGPS or GPX-capable app, hydration, minimum 200 calories, and a whistle.
Event parking is through the main gate with a $5 park fee per car and is located near packet pickup and the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
