John Muir Way Ultra Marathon
The event is an ultra marathon of 50 km that follows the John Muir Way through East Lothian. The route runs along coastal stretches, rural landscape and woodland trails and passes through towns and villages including Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick.
The route begins at Port Seton Promenade and finishes at Foxlake Adventures in Dunbar. Race registration and parking are located at Foxlake Adventures, where competitors may leave cars for the duration of the event. Transport from the registration area to the race start is provided as part of the entry fee.
Results from previous editions are published for reference. The organiser maintains volunteer roles for race-day duties such as course checkpoints, registration, water stations, start and finish areas, and course setup and take down. Volunteers receive a race memento and a donation towards their club or charitable group.
The event includes an entry, refund and cancellation policy. In extreme weather the race may be cancelled and, where possible, rescheduled; entries may be transferred to a rescheduled date or rolled forward. If rescheduling is not possible within a short timescale a 75% refund may be available. Participant withdrawal options include an entry transfer for an administration fee or partial refunds depending on how close to the event the request is made.
