Ivoryton Pumpkin Chase
The Ivoryton Pumpkin Chase is a road and trail event in Ivoryton, Connecticut, held to benefit the Ivoryton Library during peak foliage season in southern New England. The event offers race and walk options at the Ivoryton Library on Main Street.
Distances:
- 5K road and trail course
- 2 Mile walk to and from the Falls River Preserve trail head
The 5K course begins along Main Street for about ½ mile, turns left onto Falls River Drive, and reaches the Falls River Preserve at the one mile mark. Inside the preserve participants follow a 1.1 mile trail loop that runs alongside the Falls River. The trail is double track for roughly ½ mile before becoming hilly and rocky single track; rocks and roots are present and the trail can be slippery when wet.
Walkers complete a loop to and from the Falls River Preserve trail head; the preserve trail portion is not included in the 2 mile walk route. A prize will be awarded for the best costume. Free t-shirts are guaranteed to participants who register before September 16, 2026; other registrants will receive a t-shirt based on availability. Registration opens July 16, 2026 and closes October 11, 2026. Registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $30 for the 2 mile walk.
There will be no Kids Fun Run this year; children are invited to a craft and story time during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
