- 25 km Iron Knee
- 13 km Tender Knee
The Iron Knee and Tender Knee are point-to-point trail races on the North Shore finishing at Panorama Park in Deep Cove. Iron Knee starts at Cleveland Park near Cleveland Dam and Tender Knee starts at the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR). Both routes follow a mix of groomed and technical singletrack, include undulating terrain, and climb the Powerline trail before descending toward the finish.
The courses pass known landmarks and junctions used by racers and volunteers, including Mosquito Creek, Mountain Highway, the LSCR gazebo, Baden-Powell, Mystery Creek, Quarry Rock service road and Panorama Creek. Aid stations are placed along the routes and offer water, electrolyte drink and a variety of fuel such as gels, blocks, cookies and other treats; first aid and hygiene supplies are available at every aid station. Some aid stations are water only.
There is no mandatory gear list, but racers are advised to carry hydration, fuel, extra clothing and a personal cup or bottle because the event is cup-less. Poles are permitted but should not be used in the start crowd. The course will be marked with flagging, pink flags, signs and marshals at key intersections.
A shuttle bus is provided from the finish to the respective start areas; racers must register for shuttle transport. Package pickup, race clinic orientation runs, finisher medals and awards for top three by gender are part of the event logistics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
