Ilkley Moor Fell Race 2027

The Ilkley Moor Fell Race is organised by Ilkley Harriers and has been held annually since 1990. The 2027 event takes place on Sunday 7 March and is run on Ilkley Moor, a scenic area with steep, slippery and rocky descents.

The senior course is an FRA category AS race, covering 8 km with 401 metres of climbing. The race is classed ER - Experience Required and PM - part marked. There is a one hour cut-off at the Rocky Valley marshal point, approximately halfway along the course; runners outside this limit will be instructed to retire.

Race headquarters are at Wells Road, Ilkley (OS Grid Ref SE117471, postcode LS29 9RF). Organisers ask that competitors approach via Ilkley and not over Keighley Gate Road. The race HQ is about a 10 minute walk from Ilkley train and bus stations.

The event is run under FRA rules. Competitors must carry the FRA minimum kit, including waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and an integrated hood, hat, gloves and whistle. Use of GPS watches or equivalent devices for navigation is forbidden and there will be random checks. Pete Bland Sports are supporting the event and providing winners' prizes and race numbers. A no smoking policy applies to spectators, organisers and participants. Junior races are held on the day with no pre entry for juniors. Entering the race implies consent to event photography used for promotion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
