Ilford AC 10 mile Cross Country
Ilford Athletic Club stages a 10 mile cross country race in Hainault Forest. The course comprises three laps of an undulating route across tracks and grassland, with the start and finish on the plain at Chigwell Row, Lambourne Road (opposite Millers Lane) IG7 6ET.
Entries are accepted in advance and on the day, with on-the-day entries subject to a £3 surcharge. There is a cut-off time of two hours; runners who exceed this may complete the course but the organisers cannot guarantee marshals or an official finish time. Prizes are awarded to the first three men and first three women and in veteran categories, with presentations held as soon as possible after the race.
Parking and public conveniences are available via the main entrance to Hainault Forest Park, with a walk through to the race start. Parking is not permitted on the plain at the race start, and participants are asked not to park at The Two Brewers pub or in local residential side streets. Race numbers are to be collected on the day from race headquarters. Results will be posted on the club website after the event. The event has a total of 500 places and a standard entry fee of £9, with a discounted rate of £7 available until 20 December for qualifying members.
