Hyner Half
The Hyner Half is a trail running event on August 28, 2027 in North Bend, PA, organized by PA Trail Dogs and held at Hyner Run State Park. The event offers two distances:
- 14 mile race
- 7K
The course uses selected trails in Sproul State Forest and passes through varied trail terrain. Runners have a strict six hour cut-off to complete the full course. There are three aid stations located at mile 4, mile 8, and mile 11.5.
The 7K follows the first 2.5 miles of the full course, then returns to the park and finishes with about two miles of downhill. The 7K route includes over 1000 feet of elevation gain and roughly 1000 feet of elevation loss within approximately 4.5 miles.
Entry is limited to runners and speed hikers; the organizers state that walking the full course would make finishing within the time limit unlikely. Registration opens December 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET. Registration rules specify no refunds, no deferments, no bib transfers, and no unregistered participants.
