The marathon and half marathon use mostly single-track trails with rolling hills, roots, rocks, and some technical sections. The course passes beside creeks and may include local wildlife sightings. The marathon repeats the half marathon course for a full loop; marathoners have crew access at the halfway point and may leave a drop bag. The marathon time limit is 9 hours.
Aid and equipment notes: the half marathon has one aid station passed at mile 4 and again at mile 9.5. The marathon route passes aid stations at miles 4, 9.5, 13.1, 17, and 23. Marathon and half marathon participants are required to carry a handheld or pack for hydration. This is a cupless race.
Post-race provisions and awards include warm food and beverages, a shirt for all registered runners, and a finisher medal for marathon, half marathon, and 5K finishers. First place overall male and female awards are given for each distance; there are no age group awards. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed by January 1. Registration closes January 13 at 11:59 PM ET. Refunds are 100% until three months before the race; after that there are no refunds. Proceeds benefit Dauset Trails.
