Hop Run 5 June 2027

Hop Run is a trail running event with two distance options that start from locations in and around Penicuik and Roslin and finish at Stewart Brewing in Loanhead. The routes follow woodland riverside trails along the North Esk River and through Roslin Glen, passing waterfalls, river pools, quiet forests and former industrial ruins before arriving at the taproom courtyard for a post race gathering with live music, beer and pizza.

Participants register at Stewart Brewing in the Bilston Glen Industrial Estate and are transported by coach to the start lines. The event is fully marshalled and waymarked and includes aid stations, electronic timing, safety and first aid teams. Entries are set to close on 1 June 2027; the 10K and 5K listings are recorded as sold out with waiting lists.

The event supports the National Deaf Children’s Society. Donations made at entry are passed directly to the charity and Stewart Brewing is the local charity partner. Organisers have reduced single use waste by removing cups at feed stations and offer the option to donate the cost of the event t-shirt to charity instead of receiving the shirt.

Practical notes: parking is available within Bilston Glen Industrial Estate at 26a Dryden Rd, Loanhead EH20 9LZ; the course is off road and trail shoes are recommended; dogs are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
