Hood Hundred : Daybreak Racing

Hood Hundred is a 100 mile mountain trail race on much of Mt. Hood’s terrain, staged at Mt. Hood Meadows within the Mt. Hood National Forest. The course uses a lollipop-loop format that is crew accessible and features approximately 17,300 feet of ascent and 17,300 feet of descent. The finish line is located under the volcano’s summit.

Race services provided include a fully marked course, aid stations, chip timing and results, professional medical support, radio communications, post race food and beverages, shuttle support for drop bags and for runners who do not finish, portajohns for runners and crew, professional photography, and custom participant awards. All finishers receive a custom metal belt buckle and participants are provided a custom race hoodie. Parking is available at the staging venue and Mt. Hood Meadows operates the site.

The 2026 event is a Western States qualifier; completion of the course under 34 hours is required to qualify for the Western States entry process. Entry is managed through Ultrasignup and the field is capped at 250 participants. A mandatory service requirement must be met between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026 either by completing eight hours of approved work, or by making a minimum $100 donation to a stewardship organization, with verification required by July 1, 2026.

The event includes a multiday training weekend near the summer solstice for registered runners and recognizes the traditional lands of the Molalla, Kalapuyan, Chinookan Clackamas, Wasco and Wishram, Northern Paiute peoples and other Sahaptin speakers.
