Holyrood Park 5k/10k/Half Marathon
Up and Running Events stages measured, chip timed races at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh. The event offers three distance options:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
Runners collect their race bib and chip at the registration desk on event day; the desk typically opens about an hour and a half before races. The race chip is attached to the bib and must be secured to an outer garment to register a time. Event information is issued after registration via the booking partner Let's Do This and further race-day details are emailed to participants in the week before the event; race information is also stored in the participant online profile.
Course features include hydration stations, kilometre markers, course marshals, music, an instructor-led warm up, and goody bags with sports nutrition snacks and offers. Children may take part subject to Scottish Athletics guidelines: 5k runners should be 11 or above and 10k runners should be above 15. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Standard headphones are not allowed; bone-conduction headphones are permitted.
Entry and administration notes: online entries typically close two days before the event unless sold out, and on-the-day entries are generally available. The organiser accepts transfers and refunds according to set timeframes, and will issue credits if an event is cancelled or postponed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
