Hills & Hollow 5K
The Hills & Hollow 5K takes place at Coal Hollow Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. This autumn event features two separate sessions on Saturday, October 24, 2026, held in a natural setting characterized by winding trails and wooded scenery. The park is located at 22004 N. Yankee Ln.
Participants can choose between two main activities:
- 5K Trail Run
- 5K Walk
The morning session consists of the 5K Walk, which focuses on the seasonal views and fresh air of the park environment. The afternoon session features the 5K Trail Run, intended for those looking to traverse the terrain at a faster pace. Both events utilize the trail network within Coal Hollow Park.
The event includes designated locations for post-activity gatherings. Participants in the walk can attend an after-party at Nat’s Place, while those in the trail run have an official after-party scheduled at Castaways Bar & Grill.
This event is organized by the Chillicothe Parks Foundation. All proceeds support local park improvements, community programs, and recreational opportunities within the Chillicothe Park District.
