HELP in Motion Trail Run
HELP in Motion includes a monthlong virtual challenge and an in-person trail run in October 2026. From October 1 to October 31 participants may collectively log 99 kilometers (61 miles); each kilometer is dedicated to one of the 99 people who lost their lives to domestic violence in 2024. Participants can walk, run, or hike the distance where and when they choose during October.
An in-person trail run is scheduled for October 17, 2026 at SnowKraft Nordic, near Cherry Hills Golf Course in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin (5736 Walker Rd). Routes use SnowKraft Nordic’s private 20 miles of wooded trails, terrain normally reserved for skiing and biking.
Distances and target participants:
- 2K - intended for first-timers, families, and new trail runners
- 5K - positioned as a step up for beginner to intermediate runners
- 10K - features rolling hills and off-the-beaten-path singletrack for intermediate to advanced trail runners
The event aims to honor lives lost, support survivors, and raise awareness about domestic violence. Activities are described as helping to provide services, safety, and hope to people rebuilding lives free from abuse. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
