Hellbender Hustle and Dragonfly Dash
The Hellbender Hustle is the fourth annual community 5 mile trail run and walk around Leaser Lake in New Tripoli, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The loop passes through meadow, woodland, and streamside habitats with varying elevation, offering views of native flora and fauna. The event highlights the Eastern Hellbender, Pennsylvania’s state amphibian.
A youth Dragonfly Dash of about 100 yards is held for participants 12 and under. Family-focused educational activities such as crafts and lawn games are available during the morning. Prizes are awarded to top finishers and each participant’s name is entered into a native plant raffle.
Amenities include a T shirt in sizes XS through 2XL, refreshments with drinks and snacks, and a water station placed at the lake’s South Ramp approximately halfway through the course. The event is held rain or shine. Race timing is provided by Bryn Mawr Racing Co and official results will be published after the event.
Registration opens April 18, 2026. Registration for the Hellbender Hustle closes September 4, 2026; registration for the Dragonfly Dash remains open through September 12, 2026. A registration fee applies to the 5 mile event; the Dragonfly Dash has no entry fee. Same day registration is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
