About the race
Heart of the Desert Wine Run 5k takes place on February 6, 2027 at Heart of the Desert Pistachios & Wines in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The event is a chip timed 5K run/walk held on the vineyard property and results will be posted online.
Heart of the Desert operates 24,000 grape vines and harvests seven varieties each year: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Shiraz, Riesling, Malvasia Bianca, and Gewurztraminer. The setting provides vineyard views and on-site wine services associated with the venue.
Registration for the event opens on May 11, 2026 and closes on November 14, 2026. The registration fee is $25.00. Timing and scoring are handled by J3 Timing and online results are published after the race.
Registered participants receive a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a plastic wine cup, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, and a chip-timed race bib.
