About the race
The Headwall Hustle is a trail running event held in Fernie, British Columbia. The race follows a 15 km segment that serves as a part of the larger Elk Valley Ultra. The route is located within the Fernie Alpine Resort and features a specific course layout that includes a climb through Timber Bowl up to the Headwall area. From there, participants traverse into Currie Bowl before beginning a steep descent toward the finish line.
The event offers two main registration options:
- 15 km Adult (Categories: Male, Female, and Non-Binary; ages 19-49 and 50+)
- 15 km Youth (Ages under 19)
Participation is limited to 200 racers. Those competing in the youth category must coordinate with race officials prior to registration. All participants are required to complete an online event waiver before they can finalize their entry. The registration fee includes technical socks, a sticker, and a swag bag. On the day of the event, participants have access to a fully stocked aid station and a finish line brunch buffet. Trophies are awarded by category, and digital race photography is provided for participants to download.
