About the race
The Haunted Heritage Trail Fun Run / Hero Walk in Dyersville, Iowa, offers a festive and spooky running experience with multiple events including a 5K Haunted Heritage Trail Fun Run, a 10K Trail Run, and a 1 Mile Hero Walk. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes as they navigate a 3.1-mile trail where monsters, ghosts, and zombies attempt to "infect" runners by stealing their flags. The event features shoe chip timing, awards for top runners and best costumes, and a special heavy weight division.
Proceeds support local nonprofits focused on literacy and children battling cancer, creating a fun, community-driven atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
