Hathersage Trail Run 8.5 km

Bird Outdoors is hosting a social trail run for women and non binary participants in Hathersage, England on Saturday 3 October 2026. The event assembles at Hathersage Public Toilets and uses local footpaths and heritage trails.

The route is 8.5 km, following riverside paths and the Derwent Valley Heritage Trail to the Hathersage stepping stones, then turning toward Offerton Moor. Runners will encounter a steep uphill section that will be walked or walk/run, followed by a flowy downhill return into Hathersage where there are options to get a drink or coffee.

Terrain varies between river-side trails and firmer paths. As the event takes place in autumn, some riverside trails may be slippery; trail shoes are advisable. Organizers ask that participants download the provided Komoot route onto a device before setting off.

The run is socially paced, with an average pace expected to be slower than 7 minutes per kilometre. Donation tickets are available with proceeds going to a Community Fund; purchasing a Community Fund ticket does not require also selecting a general access ticket. Refunds are available up to seven days before the event. The space is intended for women and non binary people who feel comfortable in an environment that centres women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
