Hare Challenge
The Hare Challenge is a six-hour trail event at Coombe Abbey Park, CV3 2AB, using a new winter route through mature woodland, waterways and open grassland. The majority of the course follows stone pathways; an amended route will avoid the closed meadow (closed October–April) and may be muddy in places after wet weather.
Participants complete a 3.3-mile lap and may run as many laps as they wish within the six-hour limit. A single lap makes the event just over 5k; a half marathon requires four laps and a marathon eight laps. The course is relatively flat and is marked on race day; a GPX file exists but the route may be subject to last-minute changes.
Facilities on site include parking (charges up to £5 depending on stay), a cafe and a toilet block next to the event headquarters. The park is on the outskirts of Coventry and is close to Junction 2 of the M6; the nearest train station is Coventry.
Big Bear Events operates tiered pricing: entries before 09/02/2027 cost £38 and after that date £43; unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. There is no booking fee. Dogs and canicross are not permitted because sheep may be present. Rucking is allowed. Medals will be produced when available; an alternative Big Bear Tree Token is offered instead of a medal, with a tree planted for each token and wildflower seeds included.
