About the race
The Hangover 5 is a New Year race held at Hill Barn, Worthing, organised by Worthing Gazelles and included in the West Sussex Fun Run League (WSFRL). 2027 entries are open and the closing date for entries is Wednesday 30 December 2026.
Distances
- 5 miles Senior race on hilly, uneven chalk tracks up to Cissbury Ring and back.
- 1 mile Junior race on grass around the field, visible from the start finish area.
The senior course is approximately 5 miles (about 8 km) and is unsuitable for under 16s or wheelchair athletes. If the field is waterlogged on the day, a lap of the field may be cut making the senior course approximately 4 miles; a decision would be made on the morning and communicated by the organisers.
Parking is not available in the Hill Barn Recreation car park on the day. Alternate parking and marshals are provided at Worthing College about 100 m from the start finish, with additional parking locations shown on the event map.
Entry fees vary by affiliation and by whether entry is in advance or on the day. Entries on the day are cash only and available until the race is full. Facilities include medical cover, toilets, a changing area with no showers, bag storage at owner s risk, medals for the junior race, and water provided at the finish only.
