About the race
2026 Halloween Horror 5k & 10k is a trail running event held at Conway Robinson State Forest in Gainesville, VA. The event offers both a live race and a virtual race option for those who cannot attend in person.

The course is a loop route on forest trails with some technical terrain and minor hills. The 10k consists of two laps of the 5k course. Water stations are positioned along the routes: five stations on the 10k and two on the 5k, with Gatorade available at some stations. Portajohns are not onsite; a Sheetz location is nearby the start area.
Timing and results are provided with chip timing and live results posted on Athlinks. A QR code at the race links to live results, and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. Runner tracking via SMS is available during registration.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical Drifit event shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before October 14; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no on-site race registration for this event. Packet pickup is available at the event.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, plus first and second in standard age groups. The event awards series points that count toward the 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series, and the Fall Series.
