About the race
From 22 to 25 July 2027 the The North Face Großglockner Ultra-Trail takes place in the Zell am See-Kaprun region. The event comprises several trailrunning races that circle or approach the Großglockner, the highest mountain in Austria, and run through the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern.
The full loop covers 110 km with about 6,500 hm, passes near 14 glaciers and around 300 peaks above 3,000 m, and crosses three federal states and seven valleys. Most routes are above 2,000 m with high passes over 2,500 m. Races include technical alpine trails where mountain running experience and technical ability are required.

- GGUT 110 km, 6,500 hm, 5 ITRA points
- OTT 84 km, 5,000 hm, 4 ITRA points
- GGT 57 km, 3,500 hm, 3 ITRA points
- GWT 37 km, 1,500 hm, 2 ITRA points
- KST 16 km, 1,000 hm, 1 ITRA point
Children's races:
- Mini GGUT 1 km 20 hm and 3.1 km 120 hm
- Kids Trail Kaprun 1.4 km 14 hm and 3.8 km 120 hm
Since 2026 the event has been organized by Zell am See-Kaprun Tourismus together with co-organizer SALTY Trailrunning. The organizers state that safety and quality are central aspects of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
