Greenland Trail Races in Larkspur, CO
The Greenland Trail Races take place at Greenland Open Space near Larkspur, Colorado. The event offers four trail distances: 50K, 25K, 8 Mile, and 4 Mile. All routes run on dirt trails within over 3,000 acres of the open space and include wide, smooth double-track sections, native grasslands, ponds, Gamble oak hills, and ponderosa pine stands with views toward Pikes Peak and nearby buttes.
Course formats:
- 50K four loops of the main course
- 25K two loops of the main course
- 8 Mile single loop to the finish
- 4 Mile out-and-back variant to the finish
The 50K and 25K use a looped route that reaches a high point near 7,400 feet. Aid stations are located at about mile 3.5 and mile 7.5 of each loop and offer water, Gatorade, gels (available on the second lap and beyond for 25K and 50K), and salty food items. There are no aid stations on the 4 Mile course. A portable restroom is placed at the southern aid station.
Race services include a gender specific technical shirt, finisher medal, belt buckle for 50K finishers, fully stocked aid stations, professional chip timing with disposable bib tags, and free photo downloads. Entry rules require 50K participants to be 18 or older; younger entrants receive a reduced fee in the shorter races. Pacers are allowed only on the final 50K lap and crew access is limited to designated aid station locations. Awards are given to overall winners and top age group finishers.
